Carjacker who ran down mother in her own car jailed indefinitely - Telegraph

This is a perfect example of why God doesn't just forgive those who are sorry for their sins: justice must be done. He runs down a woman in her own car and leaves her paralysed. But in prison he realise the enormity of his crimes. Yet he cannot go free - justice demands he still be punished. To let him go just because he is sorry would be a travesty of justice.
Can we expect God to forgive us when we merely say sorry? Justice must be done. The crimes we have all committed must all be paid for. Justice demands that all crimes be punished. This is how God can extend mercy to wretched sinners such as we all are: Jesus the spotless Son of God suffers the punishment his people deserve that they might receive mercy.

Is the UK a free country or does Islam determine permissible speech?
Whether the UK can lay claim to being a country with even a semblance of free speech may well turn on the trial of Ben and Sharon Vogelenzang today. The story has been well covered by the Christian Institute.
Unsurprisingly it was their criticism of Islam , not the C of E, that drew the heat from the local police (who obviously are over-resourced - I suggest all forces making such arrests have their funding reduced). The trial has yet to begin, but I suspect we have another case of a professional 'offendee'.
The new culture of the politics of offence works like this: become a 'minority' that is 'oppressed' (homosexual, Islamic) and then find 'offence' (the more the better) to get opponents of your beliefs/way of life to self-censor (no-one likes prison food). I have seen this happen. It now happens regularly. A homosexual will approach any Christian signage and look for 'offending' material. Then they will depart and find a police officer to make the complaint.
If you don't think Muslims have been learning from the homosexual community, think again. The word 'Islamophobia' is a conceptual borrowing from 'homophobia' with the same intention: to close down debate and criticism.
If the freedom to say Muhammad was a warlord is lost then free speech is dead. For the record, Liverpool Constabulary, Muhammad was a warlord, he was an assassin, polygamist, slaver and he was a paedophile. I know these are not nice things to say but the questions is not whether they are offensive. The question is whether they were true or not. I have no objections to the Muslim lady sticking up for Muhammad. I even have no problem with her blasphemous belief that Jesus is a mere prophet (why isn't she on trial for that 'offence'?) I believe she should be free to speak as she believes. But one can only presume she believes freedom is a one-way street - rather like conversion to Islam I suppose.
Let's pray for free speech, justice and the chill wind of Islamisation to be reversed - not to mention this brave couple.

Self-congratulations for Tolerant Britons?
I can't decide if an article in the Metro today is vacuous, annoying or deceptive. I'll let you decide.
Under the heading, 'Britons remain tolerant despite terror outrages', this rather self-congratulatory article turned out to be ill-informed piece of half-truths and clichéd sloganeering.
What, we were left to wonder, did it mean that Britons are so tolerant? And compared to whom? The answer to the first question was trumpeted in the first line:
Then we might want to approach this survey as a kind of commentary on our sadly deluded times in which we, yes, we, decide what is 'best' (I don't suppose the Almighty was consulted by Harris pollers)
But of course, in such articles, the last word must go to a Islamic apologist. His taqqiyah is breathtaking:
Meanwhile we can pat ourselves on our backs for our 'tolerance' and suck up the lies.

What, we were left to wonder, did it mean that Britons are so tolerant? And compared to whom? The answer to the first question was trumpeted in the first line:
Almost two-thirds of Britons declared ‘no one religion is better or worse’ when asked which faith they thought was ‘best’ or ‘worst’.Just what any of these people thought of when the words ‘best’ or ‘worst’ were suggested to them we can only guess. Let's just leave it that these words are vague to say the least and this vagueness renders the whole exercise rather pointless. What after all, did it matter?
Then we might want to approach this survey as a kind of commentary on our sadly deluded times in which we, yes, we, decide what is 'best' (I don't suppose the Almighty was consulted by Harris pollers)
Of those who did name the ‘best’ religion, 26 per cent chose Christianity, the Metro Harris Interactive survey revealed.Best for what? Is Christianity rather like a cleaning product that works best for tough stains on the bath?
But of course, in such articles, the last word must go to a Islamic apologist. His taqqiyah is breathtaking:
Ramadhan Foundation head Mohammed Shafiq said it showed Britons were ‘open-minded’. ‘Most people are educated enough to know the difference between extremists and the vast majority of Muslims who believe violence is forbidden,’ he said. ‘The key thing to overcome is ignorance.Violence forbidden? Has he read the Quran? Has he read the Hadith? Yes he has - but he knows Metro readers haven't.
Meanwhile we can pat ourselves on our backs for our 'tolerance' and suck up the lies.
